Hey, All --
I hope this week is treating you well. Things are kind of crazy in my neck of the woods right now, but I'm still plugging along. *laughs*
ADVICE FOR A WF WRITER
I don't go to the Warrior Forum much these days, but I popped over and saw someone asking for help, and they were looking for advice on making $30 a day. They were leaning towards writing as a way to bring that in.
Here's part of what I said:
"Don't compete with writers who charge $1 an article. Go offline. Write for biz owners. Have a website that shows you are a freelance writer. You need to have samples of your work.
What to offer? Here is a list to start:
Newsletters - bonus for recurring income
Press Releases - can be recurring
E-books - can be recurring
Case Studies - usually recurring
Whitepapers - usually recurring
Emails - recurring
Website Content - can be recurring
Blog Posts - recurring
Social Media Posts - recurring
Want an additional idea? Create a press release website (or a general business news & events website) for your town/city. Charge business owners to write the press release and then offer to post it, or charge a fee to post a press release that they've already prepared. The website gives you a "reason" to contact the biz owners. ("Would you like to be featured on XYZ website?") Again, this is geared more to the US. You may need to adjust this for your area. Also, this is off the top of my head, not really knowing the details of your situation.I hope this helps."

DO YOU HAVE A WEBSITE YET?
One thing you need to show off your work and build credibility is to have a website.
It doesn't have to be fancy. You can use a template site, like Weebly. (My affiliate link is here, if you'd like to use it: https://www.weebly.com/r/US054X ) You can also use SquareSpace or Wordpress.
WOULD YOU LIKE A WRITERS BOOTCAMP?
I'm toying with the idea of having a 2-week Boot Camp for writers. The goal is to help writers find their niche, have their tools in place (like a website), get a marketing plan together, and go out and find their first (or next) client. (I might have it longer than 2 weeks.)

DIGITAL MAGAZINES AS A SERVICE
I'm conducting an experiment: approaching professionals who have a cookie cutter newsletter service and see if they would prefer a personalized digital magazine instead.
I'll keep you posted.
MAKE 10 CALLS TODAY
In a "clientless" funk? Get on the phone. Make some calls. Don't worry about the ones who say no.
Rinse and repeat until you have more clients than you could have dreamed of.
My boyfriend and I love going out to eat, and we have a lot of fun finding new places to go.
As a fun thing to do, I'm setting up a local dining website. I'll keep you posted on how I can monetize it (if at all).
Until next week!
