Does this sound too good to be true? Ah, Fellow Writer, not even close.
Most writers are on the Trading-Hours-for-Dollars Hamster Wheel. If you don't have a client paying you, you are technically unemployed. And if you're not writing, you're not making money.
It's a hard road.
What happens if you get sick? Or if one of the kids gets sick? (Or ALL of the kids get sick?)
What about family issues?
What about taking time off for holidays and vacations?
Or what if it's a beautiful day out and you just say, "F*ck it! I'm going to the beach."
Transitioning to passive/automated income is the key to having a steadier income that isn't dependent on the ebb and flow of client gigs.
If you can write well, you have a gift. That gift can provide an amazing life for you, if you know how to use it.
1. Create your own products. These could be guides, books, reports, digital magazines, etc. Create information products of value.
2. Set up a site for selling these products. This can be as simple as a landing page.
3. Promote the page/site. Refine your methods.
It won't happen overnight, but it is there for the taking.
